Aboard Prothean vessel – 9 Hours after arrival






*Cerebral Cortex uplink established*


(Marua these humans are giving off strange brain waves… I advise caution) echoed the mechanical voice of vengeance within Marua’s head.


(I can sense it to; these humans will not survive without our intervention it seems, this Delta human… I sense great determination but something is clouding his mind, the same applies to the Zeta Human… I must take them to the obelisk at once, for i sense it worsening…) replied Marua in her own head as she dodged and weaved down the hallways of the ship towards the archive, her four yellow eyes scanning every inch of the corridor that seemed so alien to her now.


(NO! The obelisk is experimental, reserved for the Emperor, it must not be despoiled by such… primitive beings… it would destroy their minds as it did so to Karuna… we must-)


(WE MUST WHAT!? Sacrifice two more warriors as we sacrificed whole worlds to save ourselves? No Vengeance… we must try to save their minds, they may not be of our empire nor our people but I sense great purpose and honor in them, they may be primitives… but they are warriors in their own rights and they deserve the respect that comes with that title) mentally shouted Marua in rage at the mere thought of sacrificing more lives to stall something that could not be slowed.

(…… Very well, lowering Obelisk shields… your choice is logical but by doing this you endanger everything, if you fail I will vent this ships atmosphere into the void and carry on my mission, shutting down cerebral cortex link to better compensate your mental focus and conserve ship energy levels…)


Marua shook her head lightly as the familiar tingling faded into the back of her mind, they must succeed in their mission… failure wasn’t an option… not again.


“You ever get the feeling like someone’s watching you? Not the creepy watching you in the shower feeling but…. Like someone’s walking in your own shadow sort of thing?” questioned Zeta.



“I think you’re just paranoid old friend, you never did get over the time that Red sand dealer tried to cut off you-”


“DONT BRING THAT UP! I still have nightmares every time I see a Turian in a trench coat....” Shouted Zeta as Delta chuckled over the old memory of a mission gone sour.


Time passed as the two N7 followed the mysterious Prothean down the many hallways and rooms, stopping now and then to fend off the wraith like creatures that barred their way forward….


Delta winched as something burrowed into the darkest corners of his mind.



“YOU WILL NEVER MAKE IT IN TIME, EARTH WILL BURN, YOUR LOVED ONES WILL SCREAM AND YOU WILL WATCH AS I CONSUME PLANET AFTER PLANET!!”


“Oh sod off! You know ive heard that line a thousand times… everyone who said it? Dead…” shouted Delta to the confusion of his party who had just reached a doorway.


“QUICKLY!!! Get inside!” Yelled Marua as she motioned the two N7 into the now open triangular doorway with haste.


All three of the rag tag party threw themselves through the doorway as the twin Prothean steel doors slammed shut with a loud clang followed by a miss as they sealed, all that could be heard from the other side were the furious screams and wails from the wraiths that had been denied their prey.


Delta looked around the room he had entered so frantically, like most Prothean architecture the room was all squares and triangles, floating green glass panels adorned what he guessed were Prothean computer terminals.


Green veins pulsated across nearly every surface but more so to the back of the room where what appeared to be a Prothean beacon sat atop a square berth.


Unlike a Prothean beacon the object in question was midnight black with yellow veins pulsating over its surface, upon closer inspection Delta noticed carving on the surface of the obelisk, they looked so alluring, lines that connected and branched out like branches on a tree made of metal.


Reaching out, Delta ran his hand over the smooth surface, the sensation was that of skimming a sheet of finely cut steel. sensations of pain started to spike up his arm as the obelisk reacted to the touch.


From the corner of his vision Delta noticed Zeta in the same level of distress, but before he could shout out Delta grabbed his head in both hands as a wave of intense pain blocked out all of his senses, muscles and bone felt like red hot coals, blood dripped down from his eyes as he thought his head was about to explode due to the immense pressure, everything went from black to red to black again as he fell to his Knee’s in agony, and then….




“A world on fire, orbital cannons trying to fend off beetle like ships as they descended upon cities of glass, screams echoed everywhere, no one could react, buildings reduced to molten slag as their orbital cannons frantically tried to destroy the invading force, ships falling from the skies like burning hail, so much death, silence…. A new ship was born from a trillion corpses, thousands of mechanical red eyes turned to stare at the void beyond dark space, Fear… something looked back”


Everything faded to black….


"HEY!! Jace! Wake up Rookie! We leave at 0700, pack your bags, say your goodbyes and meet us at the shuttle when your done. oh and hey your buddies are outside waiting, dont keep em waiting, the blonde one is in tears, the bloke not the girl...." Shouted a familiar voice.



"What the... where am i" Questioned Delta as he looked around the cramped Military bunk.


"Where else?? You're on Earth dumb ass! God the CO was right, you did take a beating from that crash" Replied a tall blonde haired N7 soldier.


"Crash?? I was in an accident?? WAIT! Wheres Seryna!!" Yelled Delta in panic.


"Who?"
